The SS Arthur M. Anderson on its way through the Aerial Lift Bridge, Duluth, Minnesota. The ship is famous for being the last ship to be in contact with the SS Edmund Fitzgerald (before it sank 10 November 1975). The Anderson was also the first rescue ship on the scene in a vain search for Fitzgerald survivors (there were none).

For many years I have traveled the world specializing in unique photography from remote corners of the earth. From the turquoise icebergs of Antarctic Continent and the penguins of South Georgia to the albatross of the Falkland Islands to the wildlife of Africa and the frozen corners of Minnesota. During my journalism career I published hundreds of news and feature articles along with several travel articles about life in the Southern Ocean.
